Vermont Historic Towns

The Village of Wilmington

Wilmington, Vermont was first settled by pioneering families in the 1700's.  The farms and grist mills of the original village soon grew to include flourishing creamery; and the area forest supported a thriving logging trade.  The arrival of the railroad in the late 1800's allowed tourists to enjoy the charm and country pursuits available in the Wilmington area.  Today you too can experience the beauty and reural traditions that the Village of Wilmington has offered travelers for more than 200 years.

Wilmington has a charming variety of stores and shops that encourage you to peek in to each one.  For an interesting walking tour try the Wilmington Shopping Tour
